Fastest Way to Unlock Cards In LoR. Unlocking cards in Legends of Runeterra is the key to being able to create top decks. Here is a primer to save you time as you grind out cards to build your favorite decks.

The first method gives you the most cards in the least number of games played.  This is the card grinding method that will give you the most options right from the start.  It should go without saying, but playing on Normal will allow you to level much quicker than playing Ranked matches.

Method 1: Fastest Way to Unlock Cards in LoR

This method gives you the most cards in the fastest time. See below for a method that will better suit players who are looking to build specific decks. You will have cards from all regions and a great base from which to start building your decks.

Fastest Way To Unlock Cards In LoR

Step 1: Complete The Tutorials And Starter Reward Funnel

Not only does the tutorial give you a basic understanding of the game mechanics, it also gives you cards, some of which are fantastic. Play through everything. If you get stumped in one of the “Kill your opponent this round” segments, just take an extra few seconds and play everything out in your head a few times.  It can be frustrating, but when the combination clicks, it is something that you will keep and take with you into your ranked games.

Step 2: Level A Region To Level 4

The rewards for levels 1-3 for each region are:

  • Bronze Chest: 2 common cards and a small amount of shards.
  • 2 Rare Wild Cards
  • 4 Common Wild Cards

Attaining level 4 in a region you receive the Wild Card Capsule. This reward contains:

  • 1 Rare Card (guaranteed from that region) and 4 common cards

Remember that any of these can be upgraded when you open the rewards, so this is the worst you could do.

Step 3: Choose Another Region and Level to 4

Repeat this step until you have leveled every region to 4.

When you are done you will have, at the very worst, the following loot:

  • 6 Rare Cards (Guaranteed 1 from each region)
  • 12 Rare Wild Cards
  • 36 Common Cards
  • 24 Common Wild Cards
  • Limited number of Shards.

Method 2: Fastest Way To Build Your Favorite Deck

Step 1: Complete the Tutorials and Starter Reward Funnel.

Exactly the same as the above: playing through the tutorial and starter reward funnel gives you early experience of the game, and your first cards.

Step 2: Level Your Deck Of Choice Region to Level 4

The rewards for levels 1-3 for each region are:

  • Bronze Chest – 2 common cards and a small amount of shards.
  • 2 Rare Wild Cards
  • 4 Common Wild Cards

Attaining level 4 in a region you receive the Wild Card Capsule.  This reward contains:

  • 1 Rare Card (Guaranteed from that region) and 4 common cards

Remember that any of these can get upgraded when you open the rewards, so this is the worst you could do.

Step 3: Determine What Cards You Need To Complete Your Deck

At this point, ask yourself the question:

Do I have the common and rare cards that I need to complete my deck?

If your answer yes:

  • Dive into the region that has the Epics and Champions that you need and grind it out exclusively.

If  your answer is no:

  • Continue to grind regions to level 4 until you have the common and rare cards that you need.
  • Then, dive into the region that has the epics and champions that you need and grind it out exclusively.

That’s it: the above steps are the fastest way to unlock cards In LoR. There are some modified versions of these methods (for instance, taking each region to level 8 will give you a much better “go wide” card pool to draw from), but it will be much slower.

To min/max your decks most efficiently you shouldn’t use any wild cards until you have maxed out every region, but this means that you will be grinding with far inferior decks.

In the end, the choice is yours. Find a playstyle that you enjoy and grind with a more powerful deck or go for 100% efficiency and use weaker decks to maximize your use of wild cards in the end.
